Kilcannon Industries

The activities provided for at that time included:
Packaging
Pallet and box making
Horticultural training
Garden furniture manufacture and assembly
Plant propagation
Vocational training

Kilcannon Industries has been expanded on a number of occasions since then and below is an outline of the work that goes on there.

The Garden Centre was opened in 1997 and received a Certificate of Merit in the An Bord Glas Garden Centre Awards in 1998 and has since progressed to a 3 Star Award which it has maintained since then. The Garden Centre stocks a large range of Plants, Trees, Shrubs, Decorative Pots, House Plants and Water Plants as well as having a range of gift items and Greeting Cards. An attractive Christmas display of decorations is very popular during November/December each year. A Landscaping and Garden Maintenance Service is also available and this is proving a successful venture. The Garden Centre also has some Trade customers and supplies fencing products to some local builders.

The range of extra services provided includes:

The nursery produces a large range of trees, shrubs, and herbaceous perennials. The Nursery also has some Trade customers and supplies plants to them. It also serves as a location for Horticulture Training for
several trainees who are part of the FAS funded Vocational Training Program run in conjunction with the Training Centre in Bellefield.
