When an employee commences work with an employer they are automatically entitled to a contract of employment. The terms and conditions of this contract of employment may be written or oral, expressed or implied. These terms and conditions would typically include the date the employment started, the job title and nature of work, the rate of pay or method of calculation of pay and sick pay and pensions (If any).
