How did my business get listed on Google Maps

There are a number of ways in which your business could be listed on Google Maps without your knowledge:
  1. Google Maps imports business names and addresses from business directories.
    If Google Maps has done this, your business should appear in search results for ‘Your business name in YOUR town in YOUR country’.
    You should check that the listing contains your correct address, contact details, website address etc.
  2. Someone familiar with your business, perhaps a customer, may have put what we call a ‘simple listing’ on Google Maps.
    A ‘simple listing’ is simply a marker on the map saying, for example, ‘Humpreys” is located here.
    A ‘simple listing’ might not contain address details, contact details, and might not be in the correct location.
    If someone has listed your business without your knowledge, you can ‘Claim your business’.
    We recommend that you  ’Claim your business’  to ensure that all details are correct.
    Alternatively, engage us to claim your business on your behalf.  We will ensure all details are correct, and we will optimise your listing to produce the best search results.
